Join Us - Scarborough Harmony Chorus

If you’re a woman who loves to sing, join us at Scarborough Harmony Chorus. New members are always welcome. Experience is not necessary, just the ability to carry a tune.

A five-week trial membership is available for potential new members, where you can attend rehearsals, receive free vocal training from an experienced director, and meet the members of the chorus.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous musical experience?

No, you do not need previous musical experience or the ability to read music, although it is helpful. New members do eventually need to pass an audition to join the group, usually after 4 to 6 weeks of rehearsal.

What should I expect my first visit?

Our membership coordinator will introduce you to the members of the chorus. You may be invited to join in to warm up with the group. During the rehearsal, the director will take you aside for a private voice placement. This is not an audition, but a chance to see which voice part may suit you best.

During the rehearsal, you’ll be able to work with the chorus, watch, listen and participate. You’ll be placed near chorus members who sing the same part that the director has placed you in.
